“Saya sayang agama saya.

Bayi gergasi pecah rekod

Bayi gergasi pecah rekod

Anak lelakinya mempunyai berat 10 kilogram ketika dilahirkan, tetapi meninggal 11 jam kemudian.

SHOT BY GUNMEN: Musa Hasan's anti-crime chief in critical condition, time for tell-all

SHOT BY GUNMEN: Musa Hasan's anti-crime chief in critical condition, time for tell-all

It looks like the accusations by former police chief Musa Hassan and his anti-crime watchdog body that underworld syndicates had infiltrated the police force and that top politicians were interfering in police work have touched a sore spot.
R Sri Sanjeevan, the chairman of My Watch or The Malaysian Crime Watch Task Force, was shot at close range at 4.30pm yesterday at Taman Cempaka, Bahau.
Unknown gunmen on a motorbike had made an attempt on his life. At press time, he was in a critical state in the Jempol hospital and is expected to be transferred to the Kuala Pilah hospital today.
Time to tell all
Musa, the former Inspector-General of Police who is the patron of MyWatch, had shocked the nation last year when he made public his allegations. During his time as the police chief, the scandal-tainted Musa too had been accused of being connected to underworld chiefs and protecting them from prosecution. He retired in 2009 and has tried to redeem his image by participating in several anti-crime crusades.
"This is terrible news and I hope that Musa Hassan will come out and reveal more of the truth. Don't keep any more secrets. If they dare to go after Sanjeevan today, who will be next tomorrow?" PKR vice president Chua Jui Meng told Malaysia Chronicle.
Gunmen came on a motorbike
According to the NST, Sanjeevan had gone out with his friend, Ramesh Balakrishnan, 35, for a drink after picking up the latter at his house.
“The two were in Sanjeevan’s silver BMW when he (Sanjeevan) stopped at a junction near Taman Awana Indah and wound down the car window for a smoke," Jempol police chief Supt Hamzah Alias had said.
“Two assailants on a red motorcycle rode up next to him. The pillion rider then fired a shot at Sanjeevan’s right rib."
Hamzah said the pillion rider then got off the motorcycle and walked towards Sanjeevan but Sanjeevan managed to speed off despite having sustained a gunshot wound.
“The victim despite being badly injured, managed to drive off, leaving the suspects behind. The suspects then left the crime scene and rode away towards the road leading to Rompin.” “ added the police chief.
Sanjeevan then drove some 300m from the scene before pulling over for his friend to take over the wheel.
“His friend (Ramesh), then moved him to the passenger’s seat before taking and driving to the Jempol Hospital,” said Hamzah.
According to Hamzah, the police have yet to establish the motive behind the attempted murder.
“So far there have been no leads or suspects. Investigation is ongoing,” he said, adding that a special task force had been set up by the Negri Sembilan police headquarters to probe the case, which is being investigated under section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.
It was reported in January that Sanjeevan claimed he received a death but brushed it off as part of the risk that came with the role he assumed.
Sanjeevan had claimed someone called him from a unknown warning him to watch his back as he had “stepped on too many toes”.
Tip of the iceberg: Gambling, prostitution, money laundering

MyWatch had also claimed that it possessed evidence that top police officers were involved in criminal activities, including money laundering, gambling, prostitution and have direct links with underworld figures and kingpins.
Several recent cases including a robbery at a clinic where a Tan Sri had to whip out his gun and shoot dead one of the thieves have reignited public clamoring for tougher action against crime including the establishment of an Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission.
IPCMC advocates believe its formation will  to help curb out-of-control crime by cleaning up and making more effective the police force.
Suspicion was also reignited that the main objection to the IPCMC's formation by Prime Minister Najib Razak's government was a reluctance to upset the big-time underworld chiefs whose connections and network into the police force ran deep and wide due to decades of inaction by the government.
"We have said it too many times, there is no plausible reason for Najib and the government to keep denying that crime is up. They should also stop refusing to set up the IPCMC. What are they afraid of? Are they worried that if an IPCMC is formed, the testimony that comes from the cops themselves might reveal the true state of affairs in the force," said Jui Meng.
"I believe the majority of the police would prefer to work in an environment that is free from the influence of the syndicates and the politicians. But they have no choice because they have to work under bosses who are not clean or are compromised."

2 kepala 1 badan

2 kepala 1 badan

The RM500 million 'buy-election': A record high as Najib fears OUSTER

The RM500 million 'buy-election': A record high as Najib fears OUSTER

KUALA BESUT BY-ELECTION Barisan Nasional (BN) has pledged a total of RM467.12 million in its 12-day campaign for the Kuala Besut by-election, rivals PAS alleged today in what it said is possibly the most ever spent on a by-election.
Today’s estimate by PAS topped the RM330 million that yesterday moved electoral watchdog Bersih to cry foul over the alleged vote-buying for the crucial poll.
“The grand total that we have counted up until this moment reached RM476.19 million. With a total of 17,683 voters, we announce that the value of each ballot for N.01 Kuala Besut reached RM27,000,” PAS’s Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad told reporters here.
“This puts the by-election in the 13th parliamentary session among the costliest in history.”
Dzulkefly could not yet disclose the total amount spent by the Islamist party in its campaign, but stressed that its spending has not been as lavish as BN’s.
Yesterday, Bersih had announced the pledges made so far meant that about RM19,000 will be spent for each registered voter in the state seat.
“Up to last Saturday, as compiled by PAS from media reports, financial promises and allocations by federal and state agencies for the Kuala Besut area have totalled at least RM337,490,750,” the watchdog said in a statement yesterday.
Among the projects announced so far are a RM250 million river dredging project to desilt the estuary of Sungai Besut, a 2km breakwater along the coast, and a RM35 million project to fix the busted Lowvier dam in Pengkalan Nangka here.
On July 17, Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had launched 72 units of low-cost housing in Kampung Lay Out, Tok Saboh here costing more than RM10 million. Another low-cost housing project with 200 homes worth RM28 million was also announced in Pulau Perhentian.
Yesterday, Health Minister Datuk Seri S. Subramaniam launched two Klinik 1 Malaysia with a total cost of RM39 million, while Terengganu Mentri Besar Datuk Ahmad Said announced a 500-unit low-cost housing project in Kuala Besut worth RM22.5 million.
During campaigning last week, Ahmad also told voters that they must support BN in tomorrow’s by-election to allow planned development there to continue.
Deputy Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman was more discreet when he said on July 14 that the apparent timing of the projects was not made with the election in mind.
“If aid is given during elections, it is just a coincidence, like my coming to Kuala Besut, it is the custom of the Malays to bring souvenirs to the host,” he was quoted as saying by national news agency Bernama.
Kuala Besut is considered an Umno stronghold, as it has won there by over 2,000 votes in the previous two elections. But the party and the larger BN coalition are sparing no effort to ensure that it does not fall into PR’s hands.
BN’s Tengku Zaihan Che Ku Abdul Rahman will face local boy from PAS, Azlan Yusof, for the Terengganu state seat by-election which was called following the death of Dr A. Rahman Mokhtar on June 26 from lung cancer.
In Election 2013, Dr Rahman had defeated PAS’s Napisah Ismail with a comfortable 2,434-vote majority. The state seat has 17,679 registered voters, of whom 98 per cent are Malays.

IS THIS RIGHT? Fasting month, non-Muslim students forced to eat next to toilet

IS THIS RIGHT? Fasting month, non-Muslim students forced to eat next to toilet
Photographs which have emerged online allegedly showing non-Muslim students of a primary school being made to eat in a shower room during fasting month, have angered netizens.
The photographs uploaded supposedly by a parent on popular social networking site Facebook yesterday, shows students of SK Seri Pristina in Sungai Buloh sitting around tables set up in the school’s changing or shower room.
It is alleged that school authorities have made the students eat in the makeshift dining room, located next to the toilets.
No food is believed to be served in the canteen, which is said to be closed during Ramadan.
It was stated that Education officials have met with school authorities and parents at 2.30pm.
In an immediate response on Twitter, Deputy Education Minister P Kamalanathan said the school has been instructed to change the location of the temporary eating room.
He added that the ministry has requested an investigation into the matter.
"If the canteen is under renovation, a proper place should have been identified; surely not the changing room.
"It is not the right thing to do. The school could have appointed a temporary canteen operator to run the operations during Ramadan," he said.
Full of bacteria, says parent
In her Facebook posting at 2.30 this morning, Guneswari Kelly, who claims to have a daughter schooling there, said the children are forced to eat there despite the foul stench.
"The bathroom is full of bacteria and smells..., and the toilet next door has a horrible smell," she said.
She claims that when parents complain, the children are just directed to another bathroom or a store room.
"As a mother, I am in tears and sadness. How many times do they need to run...? Dear Malay friends, is this fair to you? Does your Allah allow this?" she asked.
Her post has been shared more than 1,900 times and received more than 160 comments within 12 hours, including from Muslims who condemned the act and urged punishment against the school administrators.
Some say they will lodge police reports while others posted the link to the headmaster's Facebook page, urging action.
One FB user, Mythreyar Mutturamalinggam lodged a police report at the Tanjung Malim police station in Perak this afternoon.
Meanwhile, commentor Emy Deen said: "I am a Malay and a Muslim and I certainly do not agree with this kind of treatment against another...
"This is not the teachings of Islam. I hope those involved are punished accordingly. I wonder where they put their brains."
Another commentor, who claims to be a teacher, said the children should have been allowed to eat at the canteen as usual but advised not to show off their food to the Muslim children who are fasting.
"That is it. Not to hide (the children) in a place like this. Unwise decision by the GB," Akmar Zainal Mokhtar said, referring to the headmaster.
Suguna Papachan added that the incident stemmed from a lack of policy to address differences in race and religion.
"(The government) does not recognise that we are multi-religious, it doesn't recognise that we need to co-exist thus it (is not) that Islam is the official religion and that everyone should respect it and it only.
"There should be respect of cultural and religious beliefs of all, for example, if Muslims fast in school, there should be food made available for students who aren't Muslims," she said.

Kate selamat lahirkan putera diraja Britain

Kate selamat lahirkan putera diraja Britain

The Duke of Cambridge hadir untuk kelahiran."

Kuala Besut penentu masa depan Najib?

Kuala Besut penentu masa depan Najib?

Cuma kelebihan undi bekas ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) BN, Allahyarham Dr A. Rahman Mokhtar, adalah besar. Dia memperoleh 8,809 undi manakala calon PAS, Napisah Ismail, mendapat 6,375, memberikan majoriti 2,434.

Apa Yang Tersirat Di Sebalik Kenyataan Khairy

Antaranya:

1. Banyak blogger Umno yang mementang Abdullah dan menuntut pengundurannya telah berubah menjadi pro-Najib;

2. Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad yang pada tahun 2009 menentang Abdullah habis-habisan dengan bantuan Muhyiddin Yassin kini berpendirian jawatan Presiden dan Timbalan Presiden tidak dipertandingkan;

3. Muhyiddin pula dikatakan "tidak berminat" mencabar Mohd Najib kerana “sudah penat” dan tidak mahu dilihat sebagai tidak setuju dengan semua PM;

4. Boleh jadi juga tindakan "menutup pintu" pertandingan itu terbit daripada kebimbangan akan muncul pencabar lain, misalnya Tengku Razaleigh. Walaupun Ku Li seangkatan dengan Dr Mahathir, beliau masih cergas dalam politik dan menjadi tempat banyak pihak meminta nasihat dan mengadu nasib;

5. Justeru itu, apa yang dua watak ini (Dr Mahathir dan Ku Li) kata di belakang tabir akan memberi kesan kepada kedudukan Mohd Najib. Cuma Dr Mahathir dan Ku Li mungkin tidak sekata untuk menyingkir Mohd Najib;

It's been 40 YEARS since Bruce Lee died...

It's been 40 YEARS since Bruce Lee died...

HONG KONG - Hailed as cinema's first martial arts hero and a cinematic bridge between the cultures of East and West, Bruce Lee helped put Hong Kong on the movie world map.
So why are some in the city marking the 40th anniversary of his death in a toilet?
"In 1958, Bruce Lee was a student at St Francis Xavier's [College]," Wong Yiu-keung, chairman of the Bruce Lee Club, explains.
"One day, he was caught in a fight in a washroom by one of the fathers.
"But the priest also boxed back in his home country. So, he didn't punish him. Instead, he invited him to the boxing classes. Lee later participated in an interschool competition and won."
The incident was significant in Lee, who died from swelling of the brain aged just 32, deciding to tunnel his love of martial arts into something positive.
A short time afterwards he opened a martial arts school in the United States, where he was born.
Fans of Lee will visit his Hong Kong alma mater this weekend as one of several stops on an unofficial "Bruce Lee trail" in the former British colony, where the star spent his childhood.
Other points on the walk include Lee's statue on the Avenue of the Stars and the Bruce Lee Club house, both in the Tsim Sha Tsui neighbourhood of the southern Chinese city, which is without a permanent museum dedicated to the screen legend.
Fans will also take in a monastery in the New Territories which featured in perhaps his most famous movie, "Enter the Dragon".
Chaos
A five-year exhibition at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, featuring memorabilia from his life and films including his iconic yellow jumpsuit, was due to be opened Saturday by his daughter Shannon Lee.
"The way I know my father is not through media. The way I know my father is in number of different ways," Lee, who was four when her father died, said Friday.
"It's through the people who knew him well, his friends, my family. It's also through his own words, because he wrote voluminously.
"I have all of his library books, thousands of books and he would underline in them and write notes in the margins, so I know him from him."
Some of those notebooks, poetry, and family photos are among 600 items showcased at the museum until 2018.
A 20th century cultural icon who founded Jeet Kune Do, Lee's untimely death in Hong Kong in 1973 left fans around the world reeling.
"I remember the funeral in Hong Kong primarily, because it was just so chaotic. There were so many people," his daughter said.
"It was hot, humid, and it was just sort of like this whirlwind. And there was so much going on and so much sadness and as a little kid, I just sort of remember being dragged through that whole process and the feeling of the chaos all around me."
Lee's legacy lived on, inspiring a new generation of actors such as Jackie Chan and breaking down barriers for Asian actors in Hollywood.
"He won his fame from Kung Fu, which does not need language to deliver," Lee's biographer Roger Lo said.
"Just like dance and music. You can watch it whoever you are. It is like Charlie Chaplin whose silent movies were borderless.
"Lee was also a bridge between the cultures of East and West. He was educated both in Hong Kong and the United States.
"He appeared on American televisions and also Chinese movie theatres," he added.
Chaplin Chang, the author of a new biography "The Bruce Lee They Knew" published this month, says that Lee's real life personality, not just screen persona, are part of his enduring appeal.
"People may give him god-like status. But he is just a human."
Chang, in the Chinese-language version of his biography, attempts to portray the action hero from an unconventional perspective, showing that the screen icon could be difficult at times but was generally friendly towards his subordinates.
"He was not only (about) movies, nor was he only (about) martial arts. With his philosophy, his legacy lives on for generations. Therefore, he is admired by many even now," Chang said. – AFP

Week in biz without the boring bits: 1st year triumph for Marissa Mayer

Week in biz without the boring bits: 1st year triumph for Marissa Mayer
IT'S tough being a tech giant. Despite earning billion dollars in the second quarter, both Google and Microsoft have been slammed for making less than analysts expected.
Google was under fire for focusing on outlandish projects like internet balloons and driverless cars at the expense of their bread and butter search advertising, while Microsoft shares fell after an "embarrassing" $900 million write down on their Surface RT tablets.
"You're in the hardware business now, and pretty shortly after entering it you have a pretty big write down. That's embarrassing," said Nomura Securities analyst Rick Sherlund.
In contrast, earnings at Yahoo! climbed 46 per cent under the first year for CEO Marissa Mayer's although revenue was down seven per cent making the result mixed overall.
Cost of living was in the spotlight after McDonald's in the US provided friendly budget advice on how to live on the minimum wage. Turns out working 75 hours a week in two jobs with no allowance for food, clothing or heating is the secret. Wage advocates were not lovin' it.

Careerwise, we looked at what you should do to get noticed by powerful people. And if you are looking to spice up your work life, why not apply for a job as a "mediologist" or a "security princess?" We asked whether the trend towards quirky job titles is endearing or just plain ridiculous.
Another favourite this week was a story from Jeffrey Alphonse, who told us about a typical day working at Laloki Psychiatric Hospital in Papua New Guinea.
Back in Australia, business confidence fell amid fears of a slowdown in China; Melbourne workers braced for job cuts at Lonely Planet; while Woolworths revised their profit expectations up. Billabong shares also soared after chief Launa Inman said she would step down as part of a deal to refinance the company's debt.
The Aussie dollar stuck to its now familiar range of 91-92 US cents.
If you need a weekend project it might pay to dust off the old shoebox and sort our your receipts, especially if you're a tradie, hospitality worker or carpenter, who the taxman will crackdown on this year.
And it has little to do with business, but in case you missed it, there was also a streaker.

Don't play ROULETTE with our MPs - Guan Eng warns Najib

Don't play ROULETTE with our MPs - Guan Eng warns Najib
KUALA LUMPUR - Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng slammed Prime Minister Najib Razak's government for political double standards warning the federal government not to cross the line and go after lawmakers from the Opposition or risk the wrath of the people.
Guan Eng, the DAP secretary-general, took up the cudgels for his coalition mates slapped with summonses to present themselves to the Kuala Lumpur magistrate’s court on July 24, where they have been told they will be charged with contravening the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012 (PAA).
Two Pakatan leaders served the summonses are MP for Pandan Rafizi Ramli and MP for Seremban Anthony Loke Siew Fook, and Guan Eng expects more to follow.
According to the summons, they are to be charged under Section 15(3) of the PAA for allegedly organizing the June 22 Black 505 rally at Padang Merbok to protest the widespread electoral fraud manifested during the May 5 general election.
If convicted, both Loke and Rafizi can be fined up to RM10,000. They also risk being disqualified as MPs if fined more than RM2,000.
Ploy to 'decimate' the Opposition bench
Some have accused Najib's Umno party of instigating the prosecutions in a bid to retain the political upper hand in the country. Najib has claimmed a victory of 133 seats in Malaysia's 222-seat Parliament, but the talent is clearly slanted on the Opposition side of the House, with Rafizi and Anthony regarded as being among two of the most promising young leaders.
"When you go to court, you look at the legal aspect., you know you are looking at the spirit and object of the law. You are also like playing a game of roulette," Guan Eng had told reporters.
"I also have been charged before. I went to prison trying to defend an under-aged girl who had been raped. I lost my MP status and of course, the judge who convicted me is Mohd Noor, the same judge now subject to a sedition probe. So if you talk about the courts, it could be based on technical considerations but placing our MPs into this sort of situation is actually continued persecution. But when you are charging under the Peaceful Assembly Act and there is no violence, nothing, why are they charging under the PAA?
"And the whole issue is about elections. Up till now has the EC answered? The MP for Pandan has talked about the companies (which were granted indelible ink, caps and T-shirt contracts) but they do not want to answer. For those who supplied indelible ink and why was the ink not indelible and they themselves admit there was some problem, so when you are demanding answers, you yourself refuse to give answers. So why are you prosecuting MPs who are carrying out their duties to demand answers from the EC when they have abdicated their duty and responsibility. You say it is indelible, but when it is used, it is not indelible and you yourself admit there is a problem.
"Yang buat salah tak kena, yang meminta penjelasan kena - the same thing that I encountered 10 years ago. So this is the answer that we want and now when we demand the answer, we are charged. So we are saying this is a form of political persecution. Is that a form of national reconciliation, this is not national reconciliation."

Perodua kekal pengeluar kenderaan No. 1

Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn. Bhd.

Bonus Hari Raya 2013, Kerajaan belum Bincang Pemberian

– Bernama

Rafizi dedah pembekal dakwat kekal ‘rakan rapat’ SPR

Are e-cigarettes a boon, a menace or both?

Are e-cigarettes truly safe?

Rapidly growing numbers of consumers are turning to electronic cigarettes to satisfy their nicotine addiction without inhaling the carcinogens and toxic chemicals found in tobacco smoke. Buyers need to beware. Unlike nicotine gum and skin patches, electronic cigarettes have not been evaluated for safety or effectiveness.

Global sales of electronic cigarettes, although small compared with overall tobacco sales, have been rising quickly in both Europe and the United States. Several major tobacco companies have announced plans to introduce new or revamped e-cigarettes. And regulators for the European Union and Britain have released plans to regulate e-cigarettes more stringently, possibly starting in 2016.

Electronic cigarettes turn liquid nicotine into a vapor inhaled by the user. The liquid comes in dozens of flavors, mimicking everything from a standard cigarette to a piña colada or bubble gum. Smoking the devices is undeniably safer than inhaling tobacco smoke, a carcinogen, but there are some risks. Nicotine is extremely addictive, and very high doses can be dangerous. Toxic chemicals have been found in some devices, suggesting serious quality control problems at the factories.

Health officials also fear that flavored vapors coupled with advertising aimed at young people might induce them to start smoking and then move on to traditional cigarettes.

The Food and Drug Administration has two avenues for regulating e-cigarettes. If a manufacturer claims its device will help smokers quit smoking, the agency can demand proof that it is safe and effective for that purpose. However, if a manufacturer makes no such claim and leaves it to smokers to infer that the devices will help them kick the habit, courts have held that the F.D.A. must regulate under a different law that doesn’t require the same level of proof.

Even under that weaker standard, the agency has broad powers to protect public health. It could ban flavorings (like fruit or candy) that make products appeal to youngsters and even ban sales or marketing to buyers under 18. It could ensure that advertising is not deceptive and that factories follow good manufacturing practices.

The F.D.A. has been working since 2011 to draft new regulations to exert its authority over nontraditional tobacco products, potentially including electronic cigarettes. It needs to move as aggressively as possible to protect the public in this rapidly expanding market.
